College Recruiting Tips

If you play baseball or are a parent of a baseball player, you realize quickly that the road to success is never a direct route. It comes with failures and setbacks, resulting in valuable lessons which we learn from, adapt, and keep pushing towards our goals.

If you're a high school baseball player looking to play at the collegiate level, it's important to understand the NCAA baseball recruiting calendar and how you can use it to your advantage. There will be challenges along the way, much like your pathway to success....Here are some tips to help connect with college coaches and increase your chances to get recruited to play baseball in college:

  1. Keep your grades up: Make sure to meet the NCAA's academic eligibility requirements.

  2. Build a strong online presence: Create a profile on recruiting websites and share your stats and highlight videos on social media.

  3. Attend camps and clinics: These events give you the opportunity to showcase your skills in front of college coaches and get noticed. Make sure to bring your best game and be prepared to work hard and give it your all.

  4. Use email to connect with coaches: Send a professional email that includes your stats, highlight video, and any other relevant information about yourself as a player. Keep it short and to the point, and make sure to follow up if you don't hear back.

  5. Research the schools and programs you're interested in: Make sure to reach out to coaches at those schools.

  6. Be proactive: Reach out to coaches even if they haven't contacted you.

The NCAA baseball recruiting calendar is a set of rules and guidelines that outline when college coaches are allowed to contact and evaluate potential recruits. These rules are in place to ensure fairness and give all student-athletes an equal opportunity to be recruited. By following these tips, you'll increase your chances of being noticed by college coaches and eventually earning a spot on a collegiate baseball team.
